If you live in the deep South, you know that "Bless Your Heart" can be used in situations where you want to say something, but you can't say anything nice! For example: "Bless his heart, but he's as dumb as a box of hammers." Another example: "Bless her heart, but when she was born, she fell out of the Ugly Tree and hit every branch on the way down, and then the stork picked her up and dropped her right BACK at the top of the that tree and she fell all the way down AGAIN hitting every single branch AGAIN. Bless her heart."
Unfortunately, because I learned this, I have a hard time being sincere when I say "bless your heart", but I do mean "bless your heart" in every single lovely way possible!
